Data analysis has become a critical skill for university graduates to succeed in both business and marketing. Business schools should therefore be able to deliver data analysis knowledge using tools that students can apply easily and efficiently in any situation, be it quantitative and qualitative marketing or forecasting techniques.

Today, many changes are about to be made in the methods of teaching statistics in business programs. These are designed to make students aware of the importance of data analysis and provide them with ways of acquiring both theoretical and practical knowledge about the ins-and-outs of data analysis. The conference on Teaching Statistics to Students of Business TSSB is a great opportunity to find out about all the exceptional innovations meant to help to answer that all-important question: How can we make the teaching of statistics in business even more effective?

The event will take place in Bordeaux, France, June 8-9, 2017 and will include a gala dinner in a world-famous chateau and winery.

Several key speakers have already confirmed their presence. These include Richard Dick De Veaux (ASA) and Vincenzo Esposito Vinzi (ESSEC business school, France), among others.

The following subjects on how to enhance the teaching of statistics to business students will be addressed through a series of discussions, round-tables and workshops:

  • Technological innovations
  • Statistical features & software innovations
  • Pedagogical innovations
  • Collaborative innovations among actors of statistical teaching in business to enhance teaching statistics to business students
  • Teaching experience of recent personal research results involving advanced statistical methods
